We urge voters to reject the fire tax proposal listed on all San Diego County voters' Nov. 4 ballots as Proposition A. Vote "no," and by so doing, tell county officials thanks for the effort, but please try again.

FORUM: 'Power' politics vs. public health, safety

Valley Center Water District uses 26 pump stations and 96 individual pumps, most of which are powered by electricity to deliver water to its 100-square mile service area and 26,000 customers. In the last two fires, 2003 and 2007, our system delivered the water needed by fire fighters and homeowners to battle the fires and save livestock, structures and homes.
