The Oceanside High School Marching Band was honored Wednesday by the City Council, which noted the band's 70th anniversary and called the group "outstanding ambassadors" for the city.
"You represent us all over the nation, all over the world," said Mayor Jim Wood, a 1966 graduate of Oceanside High School.
The band was organized in 1939.
