MURRIETA ---- Visiting Angels, an organization that offers assistance to senior citizens living at home, will host a public candle-lighting ceremony Thursday in remembrance of those lost to Alzheimer's disease.
The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Murrieta Gardens Senior Living, 24200 Monroe Ave. Those in attendance will be invited to light a candle in honor of loved ones.
The event will coincide with a nationwide candle-lighting ceremony.
Alzheimer's is a progressive disorder of the brain that affects more than 5 million Americans, according to the Alzheimer's Association. No cure for the disease has been found.
