Carlsbad city leaders will set funding priorities and discuss various goals for the coming fiscal year during Carlsbad City Council's annual all-day goal-setting workshop.
The planning session starts at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Encina Wastewater Authority's board room, 6200 Avenida Encinas in Carlsbad.
After a greeting by Mayor Bud Lewis, city staff members will offer an assessment of the city's current status. Economic forecasts, land use updates and discussion on city services are planned.
Carlsbad operates on a fiscal year that begins July 1 and runs through June 30 of the following year. Information gathered during the annual planning sessions is used by city staff as they put together spending proposals for the next budget cycle.
