LAKE ELSINORE: Car shows planned for August

LAKE ELSINORE ---- The parking lot at The Diamond will be used to stage car show events each Thursday during August.
The full name for the car show events is "Blazin' August Nights Custom Car and Chopper Show." The festival-style event will feature chopper competitions, live music and games for children.
James Wood, one of the organizers, said there will be a rock climbing wall and interactive video games. And plenty of cars: "luxury cars, hot rods and old classics."
A similar event in 2006 at Toms Farms attracted 20,000 people over four weekends, and the organizers are hoping to see a turnout of 2,500 to 3,000 people each Thursday.
Anyone interested in setting up a booth at the event is asked to call Wood at (714) 408-8837.

But good start, Bring in Concerts , circus acts, Swap meets, etc to the Parking lot. We also need more restaurants near the Ballpark, so people can eat after ball games or special events.

I must agree with a posting above though, I think if it were a Firday or Saturday night it might attract more visitors...afterall, not everyone is forunate enough to have a four day work week, some must get up and go to work bright and early on Friday morning, remember, most from this area are commuters. However, I do hope that this is only the beginning to many more events to be held at our beautiful stadium, it's been a long time coming and a much needed form of entertainment. It's the perfect location for this type of thing...I look forward to concerts, swap meets, and anything else family oriented happening there...I know I will be there and most of my friends and family too. Thanks for finally getting the ball rolling, let's keep it going for a long time to come. Kuddos!!! to all involved in making it happen.
