If a slum lord doesn't comply. How will the city know? Does the city have a plan to check all rental units? I doubt it. How about all the people who rent room in their homes. I'm for getting rid of the trouble makers. They should though have a measure in place to get the good ones legal. Keep in mind that if they become a US citizen. They loose all rights in their home land. That means owning property etc. What would you do?

Each tenant that fails to cash the check would need to provide the City with the documents needed for citizenship or lawful residency verification. Those documents could be verified using the SAVE program set up to allow such status checking. Also, the City would audit the cashed checks from time to time to monitor for fraud in the benefit program.

This includes suspected illegal immigration violations.

Notice, hate doesn't stay where you put it--it keeps growing and spreading. What kind of name is Gallo? I never know what to think about names that end in vowels, they are suspect. Is he connected to the Mafia? At least Waldron, sounds English, but is she pure or is she part Irish?
